Privacy policy

Scope

This policy explains how KetoLab handles personal information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Québec residents, Law 25 (an Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information).

What we collect

If you sign in with Google or X, we receive the account identifiers those providers share (typically name, email, and a profile image). We store lab reports, saved recipes, and saved catalogue items you choose to keep, linked to your account.

The live preview and the public site may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, as needed to run hosting, security, and debugging. We do not sell personal information.

Why we collect it

To create and restore your saved bench, to authenticate you, to keep the service secure, and to improve the educational product. We do not use your health-related selections to advertise third-party drugs or natural health products.

Where it lives

The published site is hosted on Vercel. Application data is stored in a Postgres database (Neon) which may process data in Canada or the United States. Sign-in is handled through the Grok / Better Auth brokers (Google and X). Cross-border transfer is required to operate the service. We use contractual and technical safeguards typical of these providers.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, and you may withdraw consent for optional processing, subject to legal exceptions. Québec residents have additional rights under Law 25, including the right to be informed of a confidentiality incident that presents a risk of serious injury.

Cookies

We use a language cookie (kl_lang) to remember French, English, or Spanish, and session cookies required to stay signed in. We do not run a third-party advertising pixel on ketolab.ca.
